Apple named Harmonica one of the Top 10 Paid Music Apps of 2008.
In 2018, it’s back and better than ever before.
Harmonica features a genuinely-sampled 10-hole diatonic harmonica. Both single notes and chords are playable, as are “blow”, “draw”, and “bend” notes. Harmonica includes all 12 keys—it’s like having 12 harmonicas in your pocket!
Harmonica couldn’t be simpler to use. Simply touch your lips to the Harmonica and play away. You don’t even need to blow! If you’d prefer not to put your iPhone in your mouth, Harmonica works with your fingers too.
Whether you use it to make your friends laugh, impress that special someone, or to annoy your co-workers, Harmonica is indispensable.
To help you get started, Harmonica includes a song library of classic harmonica tunes. You’ll be playing along in no time.
To begin playing Harmonica right away, simply choose a song from the built-in song library. You can watch a demo of your chosen song, or play along with the easy-to-follow guides that show you exactly which notes to play.
From classic campfire sing-alongs to patriotic tunes, from hymns to Christmas carols, there is something for everyone in the song library.
And because Harmonica simulates a real instrument, don’t forget you can play along with regular harmonica sheet music too.
Just like a real instrument, Harmonica lets you play “blow” and “draw” notes, as well as chords and bends.
What exactly is a “draw” note? On a real harmonica, you can blow air outwards through the chambers, or you can suck air inwards (i.e. drawing your breath). Doing so plays a different note. In Harmonica, simply hold down the Draw button to play these notes.
You can play chords — multiple notes at once — by holding the Chord button.
And “bends”? Simply slide your finger along the Bend control to lower the pitch of the current note. This lets you play notes not otherwise available within the current harmonica‘s scale.
Harmonica includes twelve different harmonica keys, so you can play in harmony with any song. And it runs on all your iOS devices.
If you‘re playing along with your favorite song on the radio, you‘ll need a harmonica in a matching key. Fortunately, Harmonica includes all 12 keys — from G to F# — so you’ll always sound in tune.
Harmonica runs on all your iOS 11 devices. Whether you have an iPhone X or an iPhone 5S, an iPad Air or an iPad Pro, you’ll be able to enjoy Harmonica. Multitasking is fully supported on iPad, so you can view sheet music in Safari while playing along.
Since its original release in 2008, Harmonica has earned the praise of fans worldwide. Here are a few of our favorites.
When you play the app, you can look like you’re playing a real harmonica… because the app is designed for you to touch your lips to your iPhone and play … If you’re a musician, you can impress people with your digital harmonica skills… and if you don’t know how to play an instrument, you can at least make your friends laugh when you pull up your iPhone Harmonica … This expertly designed app is worth the download.

The iTunes App Store is iPhone’s killer app … Try developer Benjamin McDowell’s Harmonica app, also 99 cents. Sure, it’s odd putting your mouth on the screen. Fortunately, you can also play with [your] fingers.

The Harmonica iPhone App … is a totally hilarious new addition to the App Store, and sort of unbelievable.
I have used my iPhone harmonica in public settings just to watch the reactions, and let me tell you, they have been priceless. I have seen people react with laughter, bewilderment, and lots of snarkiness. It has been nearly impossible for me to keep a straight face.

The best download I’ve made. Can’t begin to describe how much time has gone by with this app, but if you’re out fishing, perhaps the fishing isn’t going as… well, never mind, just download it, maybe it’ll lure out some fish.
